4-wicket Nimasara Atharagalla reduces Dambulla to 154/5 as Galle lead by 216 followig Oshada’s 120

Pace bowler Nimasara Atharagala grabbed 4 wickets including the prize wicket of Dambulla skipper Dhananjaya de Silva for 8 in a 154 for 5 decimation as Galle enjoyed a lead of 216 runs at stumps on the second day on the back of a superb 120 by opening batsman Oshada Fernando who trumped his return from injury when on 52 the previous day on a century high note of the Sri Lanka Cricket National Super League final at the SSC Grounds yesterday.

Oshada Fernando set up Galle hitting 14 boundaries in a 188-ball stay to taking Galle well past the 300 mark from an overnight 210 for 5 which was followed by Atharagalla’s 4-wicket strike.

Dambulla’s Mohamed Shiraz claimed 4 for 92 and Akila Dananjaya 2 for 92.
Opening batsman Ron Chandraguptha was Dambulla’s mainstay scoring 65 off 95 balls hitting 9 boundaries with Sammu Ashan a next best 35 off 72 with 3 boundaries.
