Enrollment & Selection Criteria For
"Level 2 - Advanced Coaching"
Purpose Of The Program
Sri Lanka Cricket Level 2 Coaching Course Is Designed For Sri Lankan Coaches Involved At Levels Of The Player Pathway Which Feed Into The High-Performance Level Of Cricket. These Include Coaches Involved At District Level Structures. The "Level 2" Coaching Course Aims To Develop Practical Coaching Knowledge & Skills For Intermediate Coaching.
Application Dates: From 1st January Till 30th June Of Each Year
Eligibility:
- Sri Lankans Nationals Who Are Currently Accredited Level One Cricket Coach With Minimum 3 Years As A Current Practicing Level One Coach (Preference Will Be Given To SLC Level "1" Accredited Coaches)
- Those Who Have Represented National In Men's Or Women's Teams With A Valid Level "1" Accreditation Work
- Valid First Aid Course Certification
- Degree Or A Diploma In Sport Related Studies Will Be An Additional Advantage
- Police Clearance Certificate Must Be Submitted (Not More Than Six Months Old)
- Condition Of Health – Should Be Physically Fit And Mentally Sound Age Should Be Below 60 Years
- Attendance In SLC Conducted Coach Education Programmes And Having Valid "Transparent" With Coach Education Unit Will Be An Added Advantage
Priority Is Given To These Criteria In Selecting Candidates For The Courses:
- National Cricketers Men & Women
- Coaches Involved In 1st Class Cricket
- Coaches Involved In Provincial & District Structure
- Schools Division "1" & "2" Head Coaches
- Coaches Involved At Emerging/Sara Club Level
- Coaches Involved In Other School Teams & Academies
Successful Participants Will Receive:
- Comfortable Buffet Including Morning & Evening Snacks Together With Tea & Mineral Water
- 5 Sets Of Coaching Attire (SLC Coaching Shirt, Track Bottom)
- SLC Branded Cap
- Sri Lanka Cricket Coaching Bag With Equipment And Complete Stationery Pack
- Accreditation Certificates Will Be Given For Successful Participants
- Access To All Coaching Materials In SLC Coach Education App
What Involves In The Program?
- All Applicants Should Participate In Face-To-Face Interviews And Practical Assessments. They Will Be Interviewed By The SLC Coach Education Unit And The Head Of National Coaches. Strict Protocols Will Be Maintained To Maintain Transparency And Uphold High Standards
- Selected Candidates Will Be Required To Complete An Online Pre-Course Assignment. Covering Major Subjects Before Participating For The 5-Day Workshop
- Attendees Need To Complete A Six-Week Observation Period During 6 – Week Invite, Involving A Senior Player In Their Coaching System, Will Be Conducted To Follow Up And Applying The Learnings From The 5-Day Workshop
- Successful Participants Will Be Awarded SLC Level 2 Accreditation & Will Be Directed On Enhancing Coaching Knowledge With Coach Education Unit Guidance
Accreditation
Each Successful Candidate Who Completes The Learning Process Will Be Accredited By Sri Lanka Cricket As A SLC Level 2 Coach.
NOTE : The Course Must Be Completed Within Four (4) Months From The Final Day Of Please Failure To Do So Will Result In Automatic Referral To Retake The Course, Requiring Reapplication And Follow Normal Enrollment Procedures.
