Chilaw Marians dealt favourites NCC the winning knockout punch in yesterday’s upset on the all-round heroics of Chamod Sandaru who struck 66 runs and claimed 4 wickets for 34 runs at the N.C.C grounds yesterday which was the main highlight of Friday’s Sri Lanka Cricket Major League Inter-Club 50 Overs Tournament fixtures.

Chilaw Marians taking first lease posted 173 in 45.2 overs with Chamod Sandaru in fine nick hammering 66 runs off 86 balls inclusive of 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. When NCC batted he was spot on with the ball claiming 4 wickets for 34 runs in putting his side in winnings ways.

NCCs former Sri Lankan stars Lasith Embuldeniya and Lihiru Kumara took 3 wickets apiece.
