Sri Lanka Cricket

Sri Lanka Cricket as formally known now, was first registered with Ministry of Sports on 30th June 1975 as a national sports body. It was initially called Board of Cricket for Sri Lanka (BCCSL) until it came to be named as Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) in 2003. Sri Lanka Cricket has been the stamp of authority on local cricketing map under the mandate of Ministry of Sports and is focused on upholding the cricketing heritage of the country.

As Sri Lankans have a passion for cricket being its most popular sport with international recognition, Sri Lanka Cricket is on course with multifaceted objectives in ensuring overall development of the sport from grass root level to international level. Due to relentless efforts by Sri Lanka Cricket, Sri Lanka Cricket has become one of our super brand names most known all over the world today. 

Sri Lanka Cricket is a major source of national income and has always been in the public eye and of interest. Sri Lanka Cricket therefore makes a pivotal contribution to the nation at large.

Shammi Silva

President of Sri Lanka Cricket

Mr. Silva secured an uncontested re-election as President of Sri Lanka Cricket for the 2025-2027 term. This extends his presidency, which began in 2019, following his prior role as Treasurer from 2016 to 2019.

Mr. Silva was educated at Nalanda College, Colombo, and Captained the 1st Xl Cricket Team, played for Colombo Cricket Club, won the National Colors for Squash, and was the Former Manager/Coach of the Sri Lanka Squash Team. He also serves as the President of the Colombo Cricket Club since 2019.

Mr. Silva has over 20 years of experience in Cricket Administration & Management.

Office Bearers

Dr. Dharmadasa, a prominent business entrepreneur and Chairman of Nawaloka Holdings and CEO of Nawaloka Hospitals, was re-elected uncontested as Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket for the 2023-2025 term. His extensive involvement with Sri Lanka Cricket includes a prior term as President from 2013-2015, and earlier vice-presidencies in 2016 and again from 2019 to 2025.

Dr.Dharmadasa has over 39 years of experience with Sri Lanka Cricket & Administration.

Vice President - International Cricket

Mr. Wickramaratne secured an uncontested election as Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket for the 2025-2027 term. This extends his tenure in the same role, which he held from 2019 to 2025. He previously served Sri Lanka Cricket as Assistant Secretary in 2004 and again from 2016 to 2019.

Mr. Wickramaratne was educated at Sri Sumangala College, Panadura, and represented Sri Lanka Under 19 & the Board President Xl Team. He also represented Panadura Sports Club in 1st Class Cricket and he is also the immediate Past President of the Panadura Sports Club. He was also the Manager for the Sri Lanka “A” Under 19 and Wayamba Cricket Teams.

Mr. Wickramaratne has over 20 years of experience in the Cricket Administration at Sri Lanka Cricket.

Vice President - Domestic Cricket
Mr. Dissanayake secured an uncontested election as General Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket for the 2025-2027 term. He previously served Sri Lanka Cricket as the Chairman of the Tournament Committee from 1999 to 2004 and again from 2016 to 2018 and as the Chairman of the Umpires Committee from 2018 to 2024.
Mr. Dissanayake was educated at Royal College, Colombo and represented Lankan Cricket Club in Major Cricket Tournaments. He is also currently serving as the President of Colombo District Cricket Association, Vice President of Western Province Cricket Association and General Secretary of Lankan Cricket Club. 
Mr. Dissanayake has over 25 years of experience in the Cricket Administration at the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Cricket.

Mr. Bandula Dissanayake

Hony. Secretary

Mr. Kapuwatte was elected as Assistant Secretary for Sri Lanka Cricket for the tenure 2025-2027 and was uncontested at the recently held elections.

Mr. Kapuwatte holds the position of Vice President at the Kurunegala District Association, General Secretary at the North Western Province Cricket Association, and Secretary at the Kurunegala Sports Club.

Mr. Godaliyadde secured an uncontested re-election as Treasurer of Sri Lanka Cricket for the 2025-2027 term. This extends his tenure in the role, which he held from 2023 to 2025, following his service as Assistant Treasurer from 2021 to 2023.

He was educated at St. Thomas College Matale and has been an Executive Committee Member in Sri Lanka Cricket from 1998-2004, 2005-2016 and 2019-2021 having served as a secretary at the North Central Province Cricket Association and Matale District Cricket Association. In 2021-23 term he served as the Assistant Treasurer for the SLC.

Mr. Godaliyadde has over 20 years of experience in Cricket Administration.

Hony. Treasurer

Mr. Wickramasinghe was elected as Hony. Assistant Treasurer for Sri Lanka Cricket for the tenure 2023-2025 and was Uncontested at the recently held elections.

He was educated at Nalanda College Colombo and is a highly respectable Senior Finance Professional engaged in assurance engagements financial consulting and forensic accounting.

Mr. Wickramasinghe was a past Treasurer of Sri Lanka Cricket and also a Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICAS) and has over 20 years’ experience with high international exposure.
