The Sri Lanka Emerging Team pulled off an emphatic 186-run win against the Bangladesh Emerging Team in the first ODI played at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Ground, Savar on Sunday. Batting first, Sri Lanka Emerging Team amassed 304 for 7 wickets at a run rate of 6.08 with Charith Asalanka upfront leading the way with a stroke filled 71 off 79 balls inclusive of 7 boundaries and 2 sixes while Sri Lanka ODI player Wanindu Hasaranga came to the party with a whirlwind 46-ball 70. He struck 7 boundaries and 3 sixes as the duo put on 54 for the fifth wicket.
That was after Shammu Ashan weighed in with a 70-ball 33 with 4 boundaries in a 85-run third wicket alliance with Asalanka to take the total from 2 for 59 to 144. Upfront openers Sadun Weerakkody with 31 off 24 inclusive of 5 boundaries and Pathum Nissanka 18 posted 48 for the first wicket.
Bangladesh was scuttled out for 118 off 28.3 overs with Wanindu Hasaranga capping a superb all-round performance claiming 4 wickets for 12 runs to be named Player of the Match.
