Sri Lanka Cricket

Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 67 runs in the second ODI on the back of a superb century by Babar Azam who struck a 105-ball 115 in a massive total of 305 for 7 wickets in 50 overs at Karachi. Sri Lanka catapulted against a tight Pakistan bowling attack with the frontline falling like nine pins before a late rally record 177-run seventh wicket alliance between Shehan Jayasuriya who made 96 and Dasun Shanaka 68 took Sri Lanka to 238 in 46.5 overs.

Jayasuriya hit 7 boundaries and a six in his 107-ball knock while Shanaka struck 6 boundaries and 2 sixes in an 80-ball knock. Shinwari took 5 wickets for 51 in decimating the Sri Lankan top order. The victory in what was Pakistan’s first ODI in ten years gave the hosts a 1-nil lead with the third and final match to be played on Wednesday.
