Skipper Ashan Priyanjan led from the front with a fine all-round performance claiming 4 for 10 and striking an unbeaten 50 off 62 balls in Sri Lanka A’s 7-wicket triumph over Bangladesh A in the first unofficial ODI at the R. Premadasa International Stadium yesterday.
Bangladesh, taking first lease, was bundled out for 116 at a run rate of 3.46 in 33.3 overs with skipper Ashan Priyanjan doing the damage while Chamika Karunaratne and Ramesh Mendis took 2 wickets for 17 respectively. Opening batsman Saif Hassan top scored for the visitors with 32 off 47 balls inclusive of 4 boundaries.
Sri Lanka replied with 120 for 3 in only 25.5 overs at a run rate of 4.64 with Priyanjan’s half century the cornerstone in the victory.
He struck 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. He found good support from P.A.R.P. Perera who was unbeaten on 24 figuring in a 69-run unbroken fourth wicket alliance in sounding the victory board.
