Notice to the Membership of Sri Lanka Cricket

SRI LANKA CRICKET – 59^TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)

Further to the Notice dated 15^th April 2020 served on your Club/Association, convening the 59^th Annual General Meeting of Sri Lanka Cricket to be held on 31^st May 2020, the Membership of SLC is hereby informed of the amendment to the Regulations promulgated by the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs under Section 41 read with Section 31 of the Sports Law, No 25 of 1973, vide Gazette Extraordinary No. 2173/13 dated 30^th April 2020.

The said amendment becomes operative in terms of Article 33 of the Constitution of SLC and in effect amends Article 14(a) of the Constitution of SLC. However, in terms of the aforesaid gazette the said amendment of the Regulation is applicable only for the year 2020.

Accordingly, by effect of the said Regulation, the final date of holding an Annual General Meeting of a National Association of Sports has been amended to the ‘Thirty first day of August’ which is only in relevance to the year 2020.

Therefore, Notice is hereby given that the 59^th Annual General Meeting of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) which was scheduled to be held on 31^st May 2020 is postponed and the date of holding the 59^th Annual General Meeting will be notified to the Membership in due course with a fresh Notice.
