CCC had a stroll in the park 8-wicket win over Bloomfield C&AC as they raced to 98 for 2 off 13.1 overs having shot out their opponents for 97 in 41.1 overs at Bloomfield grounds on the opening day of the in the 50-Overs Sri Lanka Cricket Major Club U23 Youth Tournament . Trumpeting the triumph from upfront was wicket-keeper opening batsman Malinda Maduranga who thumped 55 off 30 balls smashing 3 sixes and 6 boundaries. Sonal Dinusha was unbeaten on 27 off 25 with 2 boundaries and a six and Pavan Ratnayake on 12.
Destroying Bloomfield with the ball was strike bowler Amshi De Silva who had a superb haul of 5 for 12 runs while Pavan Ratnayake took 2 for 10.
Meanwhile, Colts CC coasted to 154 for 6 in 36.2 overs after dismissing Moors SC for 151 in 36.1 overs at Colts Grounds match on Wednesday. Starring with the bat was opening batsman Santhush Gunathilaka who made 58 off 89 balls inclusive of 4 boundaries.
Pasindu Sooriyabandara top scored for Moors SC with 39 off 54 with a solitary boundary.
The Player of the Match was Nipun Malinga who took 3 for 26.
Chilaw Marians CC strolled to a handsome 6-wicket triumph over Panadura SC on their home grounds at Katunayake with Kamindu Mendis slamming 66 off 74 inclusive of 7 boundaries and a six reaching 125 for 4 off 24.3 overs having dismissed their opponents for 122 in 31.5 overs.
Kalutara Town Club beat Saracens SC by 65 runs in their played at the Surrey Cricket Ground, Maggona on Wednesday
Kalutara TC made 156 for 7 wickets in 36 overs with Inshaka Siriwardana top scoring with 48. Saracens SC was bundled out for 91in 27 overs with Sasitha Ashan taking 4 wickets for 41.
The Player of the Match was Kalutara TC’s Inshaka Siriwardana who top scored with 48 off 74 balls hitting 4 boundaries and a six.
Tamil Union C&AC defeated Galle CC by four wickets at the P. Saravanamuththu Stadium. Chasing 161 for victory, Tamil Union made 165 for 6 with Navod Paranavithana leading the way scoring 65.
Badureliya CC humbled BRC by 4 wickets scoring 166 for 6 on a top score of 86 by Malinda Jayoda at BRC Grounds.
SSC registered a cakewalk 7-wicket victory over Kurunegela YCC at SSC Grounds. Katunayake. SSC made 173 for 3 in 37.2 overs with Nipun Dananjaya firing 77 and Sammu Ashan an unbeaten 72 in overrunning Kurunegela YCC’s 170 for 8 off 50 overs.
Negombo CC beat Sri Lanka Air Force SC by 68 runs at FTZ Complex, Katunayake. Negombo CC taking first lease made 202 off 48.2 overs and bowled out Navy SC for 134 in 40.2 overs.
Sri Lanka Army SC ran up 304 off 49.2 overs in defeating Nugegoda S&WC by 60 runs on a top score of 88 by Harith Fernando while Bishan Mendis struck 79 at at Army Grounds, Panagoda. In a high scoring affair, Nugegoda CC were bowled out for 244 in 45.4 overs with Sakuna Liyanage top scoring with 72 while Muditha Lakshan made 69.
At Grounds Police SC beat Sri Lanka Navy SC by one wicket. Police SC made 225 in 49.1 overs to which Navy SC replied with 224 for 9 in the allotted 50 overs.
