Sri Lanka U19 defeated the Bangladesh U19 by 42 runs in the first Youth ODI between the two countries played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday.
The architects of the victory were Pawan Pathiraja who scored 67 off 88 balls inclusive of 5 boundaries in a total of 228 for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs which was followed by a superb spell with the ball by Treveen Mathew who claimed 4 for 29 as Bangladesh U19 was bowled out for 186 in 46.2 overs. A fighting 86 off 93 balls by Aich Mollah who struck 9 boundaries for the visitors could not carry the Bangladeshis home with only two other batsmen getting into double figures.
