Sri Lanka Cricket

In yet another low scoring game, Dambulla Giants won over Colombo Stars by the close margin of 1 run.  Batting first, Dambulla Giants made 139 for 9 off 20 overs against some tight bowling by Colombo Stars bowlers spearheaded by Jeffrey Vandersay and Ravi Rampaul who took 3 for 25 and 3 for 27 respectively while Seekkuge Prasanna added fuel with 2 for 15.

Opening batsman Niroshan Dickwella top scored for Dambulla Giants with 30. Other contributors were Shoaib Maqsood 24 and Phil Salt 21.

The neck to neck result in favour of Dambulla Giants took the shine off a brilliant effort by Colombo Stars Dinesh Chandimal who struck 65 off 40 balls powered by three big hits over the top and 4 boundaries. In that lost cause, Skipper Dhananjaya de Silva made 33 for Colombo Stars. The game was swung Galle Gladiators way by Tharindu Ratnayake who had a haul of 3 for 10. Equal the task was Imran Thahir who collected 2 for 19.
