Sri Lanka Cricket’s Major Clubs Emerging 3-day Tournament got underway last wek-end with Moors defeating Navy by 235 runs at Moors Grounds and Colts beating Kalutara TC by an innings and 141 runs at Maggona while Sebastianites got the better of SSC by 83 runs at the SSC Grounds and Army beat Kandy Customs by 9 wickets at Panagoda.

Meanwhlle, two batsmen hit double centuries. CCC Captain Pawantha Weerasinghe struck an unbeaten 200 inclusive of 23 boundaries in their drawn encounter against Air Force at Katunayake while Colts’ Ravindu Rasantha struck an unbeaten 224 containing 28 fours and 4 sixes in their big win over Kalutara TC.

In all, five of the tournament matches were drawn. The other drawn matches were NCC vs Bloomfield at NCC Grounds, Panadura Youth vs Badureliya at the Panadura Esplanade, BRC vs Galle CC at BRC Grounds and Kurunegela YCC vs Chilaw Marians at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
