Sri Lanka lose to Pakistan in U19 World Cup fifth place face-off

Sri Lanka went down to Pakistan by 238 runs in the Under-19 World Cup fifth place face-off at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua yesterday. Put into bat, Pakistan went on a run spree of 365 for 3 wickets propelled by centuries by skipper Qasim Khan who struck an unbeaten 80-ball 135 powered by 13 boundaries and 6 sixes, and Haseebullah Khan 136 off 151 balls packed with 9 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Sri Lanka was dismissed for 127 in 34.2 overs with Qasim Akram claiming 5 wickets for 37 in a telling all-round performance to take the Player of the Match award.

Winada Ranpul top scored for Sri Lanka with a run a ball 53 inclusive of 5 four$ and 2 sixes. Skipper Nipuna Wellalage scored 47 off 40 with 5 boundaries.
