U19 WORLD CUP SEMI-FINALS | England take on Afghanistan today; India play Australia tomorrow

The Under-19 World Cup has reached the pitch of a four cornered battle for the trophy glitter. Right up there are India, Australiap,England and Afghanistan in a backdrop of the reigning champions Bangladesh having been knocked out by India in the quarter finals.

England will meet Afghanistan in the first semi-final today at the North South grounds, Antigua while India take on Australia in the second semi-final tomorrow. England, skippered by Tom Prest beat South Africa by 6 wickets scoring 212 for 4 in 31.2 overs in reply to the Proteas 209 off 43.5 overs. Afghanistan, led by Sulaiman Safi, went through beating Sri Lanka by 4 runs in a close finish. Meanwhile, India, led by Yash Dhull, made it by defeating Bangladesh by 5 wickets scoring 117 for 5 in 30.5 overs having shot out their opponents for 111 in 37.1 overs. Australia, led by Cooper Connolly, beat Pakistan by 119 runs to the semi-finals.

Tomorrow’s Australia-India face off will be at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua.
