Dambulla 159/2 on rain hit day vs. Jaffna

Lasith Abeyratne and skipper Minod Bhanuka hit unbeaten knocks of 60 and 51 respectively as Dambulla made 159 for 2 wickets against Jaffna on a rain marred opening day of the four-day fixture of the SLC National Super League Tournament that got off at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Wednesday.

Abeyratne had struck 5 boundaries in his 114-ball knock and Bhanuka a similar number of boundaries in his 98-ball innings with the third-wicket pair looking good to extend their 118-run partnership. Leo Franscisco made 24 and Nimesh Jayasinghe 17. Jaffna’s Nuwan Pradeep accounted for both wickets at a cost of 39 runs.
