Sangeeth Cooray 160, Pabasara Waduge 108 flay Jaffna attack in record 208 stand – Galle 444/9 decl.

Openers Sangeeth Cooray and Pabasara Waduge flayed the Jaffna attack with both topping centuries as Galle amassed 444 for 9 declared in reply to their opponents 254 after the third day’s play of their SLC National Super League match played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium at Sooriyawewa, Hambantota on Saturday. Jaffna, trailing by 192 on the first innings, were 43 for no loss in their second essay.

Galle took their overnight score of 113 to big measure as Sangeeth Cooray blazed to 160 off 263 balls powered by 13 boundaries, and Pabasara Waduge struck 108 off 165 balls clouting 10 fours and 2 sixes. They posted a record 208 runs for the first wicket off 315 deliveries. Sunidu Lakshan followed up with a brisk 57 with Hashan Dunindu making 34 and Chanaka Ruwansiri 29.

Sashika Dilshan took 4 for 146 and Janith Liyanage 3 for 53 for Jaffna.
