Sebastianites beat Colts on first innings to set up final vs Tamil Union

Sebastianites qualified for the finals of the SLC Major Clubs Emerging Tournament on a first innings win over Colts in the second semi-final at the P. Saravanamuththu Stadium on Sunday. Accordingly, Sebastianites will meet Tamil Union in the finals from April 22 to 24 at the SSC Grounds.

Not a ball was bowled on the rain marred third and final day. However, the Sebastianites survived a second inoings scare of 53 for 6 wickets. They led Colts by 28 runs on the first innings having totalled 141 and bowled out their opponents for 113.

Sandun Fernando top scored with 46 for the Sebastianites in the first innings while Lahiru Fernando made 28. Roshen Sanjaya took 3 for 9 and Ian Daniel 2 for 36 for Colts.

Colts top scorer was Muditha Lakshan who made 35 followed by Jehan Daniel 31 and Kavishka Anjula an unbeaten 16. Sebastianites Tharindu Ratnayake returned the fine figures of 4 for 34.

Secstianites were rocked by Jehan Daniel who claimed a splendid 5 for 27 in their second essay when the game was dogged by rain on the final day which put paid to Colts making a match of it.
