SL Emerging vs Kent a high scoring draw – Lankans amass 658/9 decl.

The Sri Lanka Development Squad and Kent settled for a high scoring draw at Canterbury’s St. Lawrence Grounds yesterday. The Lankans amassed 658 for 9 declared on the fourth and final day in reply to Kent’s 595 for 8 declared. Kent, in turn ran up 200 for the loss of one wicket in their second essay.

The Lankans took their overnight score of 573 for 6 past the 600 mark. It was the highlight of Sri Lanka’s youth run machine. Continuing the good work was Santhush Gunathilaka who made a bounary packed 58 off 116 adding 75 off 152 with Yasiru Rodrigo who was unbeaten on 25. Gunathilaka struck 8 fours.

Kent’s threesome of Max Luckett, Darren Stevens and George Linde took 2 wickets apiece. Kent, as well, continued their run vein in a ton by Marcus Kiordan.
