Australia A overhauled Sri Lanka A’s formidable 297 for 7 wickets by the the ease of 7 wickets in the opening 50-over game in a show of strength of Australia’s cricketing mite at the SSC yesterday matching their seniors also on song by their two T20 series clinching triumphs in on going parallel tours of Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka A skippered by Dhananjaya de Silva did everything right in amassing a near 300 target with de Silva leading the way with a 70-ball top score of 68 filled with 8 boundaries while Oshada Fernando an equal to the task 65 off 62 inclusive of 7 boundaries.

Skipper Alex Carey stroked an unbeaten run a ball 52 hitting 5 boundaries, and Henry Hunte 36 off 45 with 4 boundaries.

The Aussies were home by the third ball of the 47th over.
