Kandy Falcons defeated Dambulla Aura by 39 runs in the 18th night match of the Lanka Premier League 2022 with Oshane Thomas emerging the Player of the Match taking 3 wickets for 15 at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Batting first Kandy Falcons totalled 160 for 7 wickets with Ashen Bandara top scoring with 37 off 31 balls inclusive of a six and boundary. Kavin Bandara made 27 off 16 with 3 boundaries and Najibullah Zadran 22 off 18 hitting a six and boundary.

Dambulla Aura’s batsmen were unable to repeat the winning feat against Galle Gladiators in their previous game with the exception of Sikandar Raza who scored 48 off 33 hitting 2 sixes and 3 boundaries and Dilum Sudeera 21 in a meagre 121 for 9 off 20. West Indian Oshane Thomas was on song with his 3 wickets dismissing opener Devon Daniel for 8 caught by Minod Bhanuka and sending back Bhanuka Rajapaksa for a duck also to a catch by Minod Bhanuka and the wicket of Dambulla skipper Dasun Shanaka whom he had caught by Kamindu Mendis for 14 as they lost 5 wickets for 41 in 7.2 overs. All-rounder Chamindu Wijesinghe took 2 for 17.
