Sri Lanka’s T20 Skipper Dasun Shanaka could not have any better Over the Moon personal milestone satisfaction than having become the Sri Lankan batsman with the fastest T20 fifty off 20 balls against India yesterday at Pune. If the cameo effort was to the primary team cause of drawing Sri Lanka level 1-all in the 3-match series, the personal milestone saw him better the simultaneous records for the fastest fifty off 20 balls in the short format of the game held by Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene off 21. Sangakkara set up the record in 2000 also against India at Nagpur while Jayawardene did so in 2007 versus Kenya at Johannesburg.

The world record is held by India’s Yuvraj Singh 50 off 12 balls versus England at the 2007 World Cup.
