India Women swept to a 7-wicket win over Sri Lanka Women in a decisive Under-19 World Cup super six encounter today at South Africa’s Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. Sri Lanka Women, put into bat, totalled 59 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs against a tight Indian attack with Player of the Match Parshavi Chopra claiming 4 wickets for 5 runs. Lankan skipper Vishmi Gunarathne made 25 off 28 with 2 boundaries while Umaya Rathnayake 13 was the only other batter from the side to reach double figures. India Women breezed to 60 for 3 in only 7.2 overs with Soumya Tiwari scoring an unbeaten 28 off 15 inclusive of 5 boundaries. Shafali Verma made 15 and Shweta Sehrawat 13. Sri Lanka’s Dewmi Vihanga claimed all three wickets conceding 34 runs.
