Colombo’s frontline squandered a fine 77-run start by openers Krishnan Sanjula 57 and Navindu Vithanage 46 following a double strike by 25-year old right arm medium pacer Lahiru who bowled Kusal Janith Perera for a duck and had Charith Asalanka caught by Jayalath for 4 before Roshen Silva rallied the side with the support of Navindu Vithanage. Upfront, Krishan Sanjula struck 12 boundaries in his 81-ball innings, and Vithanage 7 boundaries in his 128-ball knock. Roshen Silva’s 125-ball stay included 3 boundaries as the right-hander dug in for the following day with Munasinghe crossing the boundary twice in his unfinished 31-ball stay in what has been a fine form run by the 21-year old former Nalanda College left-hander.
Dambulla added a further 44 runs resuming from an overnight 297 for 6 with Ashan Priyanjan, who was on 100, falling for 114. Colombo’s Himesh Ramanayake claimed 4 for 76.
