One drop batsman Kusal Mendis top scored with 95 and opening batsman Oshada Fernando struck an unbeaten 78 as Sri Lanka ran up 276 for 4 declared against a New Zealand XI in a warm up match on the tour of New Zealand at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval at Lincoln on Saturday.

The New Zealand XI was on 141 for 1 at stumps with skipper Jack Boyle top scoring with 73. Kusal Mendis struck 16 boundaries and 2 sixes in his 87-ball cameo while Oshada Fernando hit 11 boundaries and a six in a 111-ball knock as the pair added 162 for the second wicket.

Angelo Matthews made 38, Dinesh Chandimal 35 and skipper Dimuth Karunaratne 21.
