Off spinner Lakshitha Manasinghe sent South Africa A crashing to 131 in 40 overs as hosts Sri Lanka A took control to lead by 194 on a rain marred second day of the unofficial first test match
at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Munasinghe wrought havoc with the ball in his 10-over spell as the South Africans wobbled from 55 for 2 following a one hour delayed start and further rain caused early stoppage lunch break. The Lankan attack was on song with pacer Dilshan Madushanka claiming 3 for 31 and spinner Lasith Embu]deniya 2 for 61 as rain havoc ended play prior to the tea break. Matthew Breetzke was the only South African batsman to defy the Lankan attack carrying his bat for an unbeaten 59.
