NATIONAL SUPER LEAGUE 50-OVERS TOU

Colombo defeated Jaffna by 3 wickets with 2.3 overs to spare despite their opponent’s Nipuna Karunanayake striking a superb run a ball 118 containing 7 boundaries and Hasitha Boyagoda 86 in a lost cause in their National Super League limited-overs cricket fixture played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium yesterday. Colombo made 312 for 8 wickets in overhauling Jaffna’s 310 for 6 in 50 overs with Ashen Bandara striking an unbeaten 80, Nuwanidu Fernando 61and Vishan Randika 54 with Tharindu Ratnayake unbeaten on 37 in that victory spurt.

Meanwhile, Kamil Mishara struck an unbeaten 66 off 64 balls inclusive of 9 boundaries as Kandy defeated Galle by 8 wickets reaching the target in only 23.2 overs having dismissed their opponents for 146 in 44.4 overs in a National Super League Limited Overs fixture at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium. 

He shared in an unfinished 101-run third wicket partnership with Chamod Sandaru who made 33 off 44 inclusive of 3 boundaries and a six. Skiper Niroshan Dickwella struck a 26-ball 30 filled with 4 boundaries. 

Galle’s innings revolved around an unbeaten 66 by Shehan Fernando.
