West Indies U19 defeated Sri Lanka U19 by 3 wickets in a Super Sixes fixture of the Under-19 World Cup at the Diamond Oval ground in Kimberley, South Africa.
Chasing 232 for victory, Steve Wedderburn set his side on course with a top score of 61 off 71 balls in his first match of the tournament to help the West Indies to victory with three balls to spare.
Other run getters were Jordan Johnson (39), Stephan Pascal 33, and Nathan Sealey 27 not out.
Sri Lanka was dismissed for 231 off the last ball of the allotted 50 overswith Reneico Smith claiming 4 for 47 and Edward 2 for 47.
Dinura Kalupahana top-scored for the Lankans with 53, while Maisha Tharupathi made 42.
