NCC rode to their third successive win against Police SC on Saturday in an unbeaten run of the Sri Lanka Cricket Major Clubs T20 Tournament 2024 at Maggona.
In the rain reduced 8-over encounter, NCC scored 66 for 2 off 5 overs with Kamil Mishara striking a blitzkrieg unbeaten 34 off 12 balls in overhauling their opponent’s 62/5 in the allotted 8 overs. He sealed it hammering 4 sixes and a boundary.
Meanwhile, Panadura SC romped to their second win defeating Colts CC by 5 runs in a high scoring close Group D fixture at the NCC Grounds.
Panadura, taking first lease, posted 162 for 6 off 20 overs with Lahiru Dawatage top scoring with 57. Off-spinner Akila Dananjaya took 3 wickets for 22 runs for Colts.
Colts made a gallant attempt to cross the line finishing on 157 for 8 off 20 with Dhananjaya Lakshan top scoring with 33. Prabath Asanka, Vishwa Lahiru and Gimandu Malcom claimed 2 wickets apiece for the winners.
The rest of the rain hampered fixtures between Ragama CC and Colombo CC and Kurunegala YCC vs Bloomfield C & AC ended in no decisions.
