Nishan Peiris 5/42 puts Galle in sight of victory following skipper Ramesh Mendis ton

Off spinner Nishan Pieris put Galle in control with a 5-wicket haul for 42 runs in dismissing Kandy for 163 for 5 in the second innings on the third day of the National Super League final after Skipper Ramesh Mendis carved a game 111 yesterday in a total of 302 in reply to their opponents 316 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium yesterday.

It left Galle needing 176 runs for victory on the final day on Friday in what was a tremendous turnaround with Peiris dictating terms with the ball to putting his side in sight of victory.
