Skipper Ramesh Mendis to the fore – Galle 247/8 in reply to Kandy’s 316

Galle Skipper Ramesh Mendis struck an unbeaten 79 in 118 balls inclusive of 6 boundaries in a total of 247 for 8 wickets to keep his side in the game in reply to Kandy’s 316 on the second day of the NSL final yesterday at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Earlier, all-rounder, Ashian Daniel took Kandy past the 300 mark with an unbeaten half century off 99 balls hitting 5 boundaries. Asanka Manoj took 3 for 46 for Galle.

Kandy’s Nimsara Atharagalle claimed 3 for 47 followed by Sithum Dissanayake and l Lasith Embuldeniya two wickets apiece.
