Sri Lanka ‘A’ swept to a facile 8-wicket win over Afghanistan A who were bundled out for 121 in 27.2 overs with the hosts reaching a DLS revised target of 101 in 30 overs in the rain marred second ODI to go 2-up in the 3-match series at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Afghanistan, opting to bat on winning the toss was reeling on 30 for 6 wickets after only 6.5 overs in that eventual precipitation giving the Lankans a cakewalk Sri Lanka with the duo of Mohammed Shiraz, Chamika Gunasekara and skipper Sahan Arachchige claiming 2 wickets each.
Qais Ahmed 46 top scored for Afghanistan with 46 followed by Farmanullah 37.
Kamil Mishara scripted the Lankan run chase with a run-a-ball 45 inclusive of 6 boundaries in posting 50 for the second-wicket with Lahiru Udara who made 20.
