Ace Capital CC produced an ace from the sleeve when they shocked defending champions SSC by a comprehensive 5 wickets that took top billing at the Army grounds Dombagoda yesterday among yesterday’s Sri Lanka Cricket Major Club Limited Overs Cricket Tournament matches.

Responding to SSC’s 157 all out in 42.3 overs, Ace Capitalgot home in 38.4 overs with one drop Pawantha Weerasingha steering his side scoring 79 off 104 balls inclusive of 4 boundaries and 3 sixes with Sammu Ashan keeping one end going with a calm 39 containing 2 boundaries.

SSCs total revolved around a solid 79 by veteran Dimuth Karunaratne off 107 balls hitting 4 boundaries and a six, but could not stop their lesser-known rivals from getting into the winning act in style to creating a major tournament upset.
