Ace Capital upstage Bloomfield by 5 wkts. in fifth successive upset; Nishan Madushka 81 n.o. in CCCs 7-wkt. win over Kurunegela YCC

Ace Capital CC continued their winning streak for their fifth upset win downing Bloomfield C&AC by 5 wickets with 20 balls to spare reaching a revised DLS target of 161 for 5 wickets after their opponents had made 159 for 7 off 27 overs in the rain affected Sri Lanka Cricket Major League Limited Overs tournament fixture played at the Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club Grounds yesterday. Typically leading the way Ace Capital skipper and opening batsman Thanuka Dabare with a belligerent 67-ball 73 hitting 5 boundaries and 4 over the top.

Opening batsman Nishan Madushka struck an unbeaten 81 off just 45 balls inclusive of 8 boundaries and 5 over the top as CCC beat Kurunegala YCC by 7 wickets on a total of 104 for 3 after 12.5 overs having bundled out their opponents for 103 in 29 overs in their played at the Welagedera Stadium, Kurunegela.

In an early setback as CCC lost two wickets for no runs with opening partner, Sri Lanka and club skipper Wanindu Hasaranga bowled for a first ball duck in what is a part of the game knowing the pinch hitting all-rounder’s clean hitting ability, and Lasith Croospulle also for a duck six balls later to a Vikum Sanjaya delivery caught by Kaushal, young Madushka rallied his side from 2 for 7 after 2 overs in adding 53 for the third wicket with Pawan Pathirana 8, and going on to hit the winning board in the company of Pavan Rathnayake unbeaten on 15 off 9 with a boundary and six.
