Chamindu Wickramasinghe struck a Player of the Match unbeaten 56 off 34 balls inclusive of 6 boundaries and 3 sixers in a total of 160 for 8 wickets to take Dambulla Sixers to victory over Galle Marvels by 25 runs in the 12th game of the LPL yesterday at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

The No. 6 came to the show with his side tottering on 5 for 86 after 11.4 overs in a truly redeeming role as he stood his end as wickets toppled at the other end with the next best being Lahiru Udara’s 26 off 17 (3×4, 1×6).

Galle Marvels too buckled with only a rearguard No.8 unbeaten cameo effort by Isuru Udana 72 off 38 in a smashing of 5 over the top and a similar number of boundaries the high in an otherwise lost cause as the side was bowled out for 135 in 19.4 overs. Doing the job for Dambulla Strikers were the trio of Dushan Hemantha 3 for 33, Nuwan Thushara 3/37 and Chamindu Wickramasinghe 2 for 1, with the latter taking the Player of the Match award for his all-round feat.
