South Africa A won a consolation third ODI against Sri Lanka A by 5 wickets in a high scoring game at Potchefstroom on Wednesday with the visitors clinching the unofficial 3-match series 2-1.
The South Africans did well to meeting a challenging 309 target winning on a score of 311 for 5 wickets in 42.5 overs on a brilliant unbeaten 188 by David Bedingham in response to the Sri Lankans 308 for 6 off 50 overs.
For the Lankans, opener Lahiru Udara top scored with 90 off 94 balls hitting 10 boundaries and a six while Nuwanidu Fernando made 52 inclusive of 7 boundaries and a six. Chamindu Wickramasinghe scored 70 off 54 balls with 3 boundaries and 4 sixes with Dinura Kalupahana chipping in with 45 off 57 balls with 2 boundaries and sixes each in reviving the innings from 187 for 6.
