Colombo South defeated Colombo North by one wicket in a thrilling first semi final of the Sri Lanka Cricket and Prima Under 15 Youth League yesterday Wednesday at Reid Avenue o making it to.the finals of this mega junior Cricket tournament which takes pride of place as the center peice talent feeding arm to national cricket taking off to the International stage.
Batting first, Colombo South ran up 180 for 9 wickets in 49.1 overs with their bowlers going on to win a nerve tingling duel by bowling out Colombo North on the nick of time for 179 in the same number of overs.
Colombo South’s heroes were mainly Methuka Gunatatne who top scored with 45 off 66 balls hitting 7 boundaries while Chamitha Kankanamge shone with the ball claiming 3 wickets for 27 runs.
