Vimath Dinsara batted Sri Lanka out of trouble to a dramatic 7-run win over Bangladesh striking a superb 107 off 132 balls inclusive of 10 boundaries having come in with the score on a wobbly 3 for 36 in their last group match of the ACC U19 Asia Cup yesterday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

It was a commendable triumph for the he Lankans, already having made it to the semi finals ahead of this game against a strong Bangladeshi side who were tipped the favourites by experts here in Dubai.

Sri Lanka won all their three group three matches to heading their group and looking trim for their upcoming semi final game against the winners of the India versus UAE fixture.

Dinsara batted with great aplomb in the situation to putting Sri Lanka back on track for a total of 228, being last out with four balls to spare.

Bangladesh wilted against the tight Lankan attack despite Kalam Allen’s defiant 95 to being bowled out for 221 in 43.3 overs with Lankan Skipper Vihas Thewmika claiming 3 wickets for 37.
