Badureliya SC’s box seat domination on Geeth Kumara’s 165 n.o. as Ragama 122 and 112/5 following on

Three batsmen – Geeth Kumara of Badureliya SC and Pramod Maduwantha of Negombo CC and Chamindu Wickramasinghe of Sinhalese Sports Club got into the three figure groove on Saturday’s second day of the Sri Lanka Cricket Major League 3-day Tournament.

Badureliya SC’s Geeth Kumara struck a rollicking unbeaten 165 studded with 13 boundaries and 4 sixes in a massive total of 423 for 8 wickets declared in a box seat domination of the better known Ragama CC who were shot out for 122 and following on 112 for 5 at Maggona.

PRAMOD MADUWANTHA TAKES POLICE ATTACK TO THE CLEANERS

Meanwhile, Pramod Maduwantha scored 101 runs off 202 balls hitting 8 boundaries in Negombo CC running up 407 for 7 wickets declared in taking the Police SC attack to the cleaners at Police Park with telling contributions from Milinda Siriwardena 83, Himasha Liyanage 65 and Dilshan Munaweera 44.

Police SC had replied with 127 for 3 at sumps. while Wickramasinghe hit 102 runs 

CHAMINDU WICKRAMASINGHE 102 IN SSCs 369, BUT COLTS 264/2

Chamindu Wickramasinghe sparkled with an unbeaten 102 off 161 balls with 10 boundaries in the wake of teammate Kusal Mendis’ 123 the previous day as SSC made 369 at their home grounds against Colombo Cricket Club which responded with a strong 264 for 2 led by compelling unbeaten knocks by Minod Bhanuka 85 and Pavan Rathnayaka 79 with Lasith Croospulle having made 76 in a fine form run in the tournament. 

Taking top billing with the ball was Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club’s Aravinda Premarathne with a 7-wicket haul for 113 runs against Tamil Union C & AC. But it did not deter Tamil Union from taking a 77-run lead on a total of 299 in reply to their opponents 222.

The left-arm spinner Dilum Sudeera and off-spinner Akila Dananjaya also shone with the ball, claiming five-wicket hauls for Police Sports Club and Colts Cricket Club respectively.
