The Sri Lanka Cricket National Super League Tournament was in full swing with Galle enjoying an overall lead of 265 runs against Kandy on a first innings score of 602 for 9 declared in bowling out their opponents for 350 on the third day of their four day match played at the Mahonda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Sooriyawewa, Hambantota yesterday.

Galle’s domination of the game was on their run high first innings leverage spurred by Nipun Dhananjaya’s 137 and Ramesh Mendis’ 121 in that run spree.

Galle’s 350 was built around Kamil Mishara”s workmanlike knock of 158.
Galle were 13 for no loss in their second innings.

Meanwhile, Jaffna, was on 73 for 1 wicket chasing 381 to win against Colombo which ran up 386 on Avishka Fernando’s 144 and followed it up with 313 for 6 declared having dismissed Jaffna for 246 in setting their opponents a gettable target on the penultimate day at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

Jaffna’s Jeffrey Vandersay’s first innings 6 for 86 was a highlight despite his side’s downsizing which was due to Jaffna’s batsmen not living up to expectations with only Anjala Bandara 88 and Jsnith Liyanage 51 coming good with the bat.
Colombo’s Nishan Peiris took 5 for 59.
