Colombo swept to an 87-run win over Jaffna despite a century fight back spearheaded by Ravindu Rasantha who stroked 107 off 182 balls, and Shevon Daniel 82 on the final day yesterday of the 4-day National Super League Tournament match played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

Jaffna chasing a mammoth 454, went up to 366 with Rasantha and opening batsman Shevon Daniel fronting a spirited chase, but Colombo finally prevailed despite down the line resistance from Anjala Bandara 51 off 86 with 5 boundaries and a six, and Chamika Karunaratne’s half century 51 inclusive of two over the top and equal number of boundaries.

Meanwhile, Galle played out a draw against Kandy in extending their first innings 252 lead on a score of 602 in a second innings score of 269 for 5 with skipper Pasindu Sooriyabandara topping the three figure mark for 102 off 203 with 7 boundaries.
