Bangladesh U19 trounced Sri Lanka U19 by 9 wickets and 93 balls to spare in the second ODI Youth fixture to draw level in the 5-match series yesterday on a brilliant unbeaten 130 by Zawad Abrar at the CCC Grounds.
Abrar struck 14 boundaries and 6 sixes in a 180 second wicket bonding together with skipper Azizul Hakim who made 69 off 89 hitting 5 boundaries and 3 sixes in overhauling Sri Lanka’s 211 all out in 48.5 overs after the hosts took first lease on winning the toss.
Sri Lanka’s innings was checked by pace bowler Al Fahad’s superb 6 for 44 returns. The hosts top scorer was Chamika Heenatigala 51 off 91 balls with 2 boundaries .
Other Lankan run getters were Dinura Damsith 47 off 52 with 3 fours and 2 sixes, Dimantha Mahavithana 39 and Dulnith Sigera 39.
