Jaffna’s opening batsman Ravindu Rasantha continued his big score penchant in the tournament striking an unbeaten 100 off 196 balls hitting 10 boundaries to put is side on a strong 206 for 2 off 62 overs against Dambulla after electing to bat on the toss of the coin on the opening day of the Sri Lanka Cricket driven National Super League match at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Rasantha rekindled his superb recent double century form tucked into a 196-ball innings hitting 10 boundaries in an unfinished 131-run third wicket partnership with Angelo Mathews who carved 64 off 49 hitting 6 boundaries after Shevon Daniel had fallen for 7 with the score 24 and Thanuka Dabare for 33 at 75 for 2 after Jaffna had opted to take first lease on winning the toss.
Dambulla’s Dinura Kalupahana and Dulaj Samuditha accounted for the two wickets to fall.
