SEMI FINALISTS

NCC won a DLS dictated quarter final against Tamil Union whose Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s brilliant knock of 62 off 30 balls, 50 of which came in a rain of 5 sixes and 5 boundaries in a total of 167 for 6 off 20 overs, was negated with NCC crossing a revised target of 55 runs in 5 overs in reaching the semi-finals of the Sri Lanka Cricket Major Club T20 Cricket Tournament at the CCC Grounds yesterday.

Meanwhile, CCC jinxed BRC by 17 runs in the other quarter final also on the revised DLS match dictates defending 179 for 6 off 20 overs on Nishan Madushka’s 79 off 50 (5×6, 3×4) with BRC, set a revised target of 57 off 5 overs, checkmated on 39 for 5 in the face of a 3 wicket burst by Isure Udana for 15 runs with Nuwan Thishara equal to the task claiming 2 wickets for 13 at the P. Saravanamuththu International Stadium yesterday.
