Underdogs Malay CC shocked the strong SSC thrashing the elite Colombo club by 6 wickets its bowlers having got rid of its star studded batsmen cheaply including the top notch Sri Lanka white ball captain Charith Asalanka for 2, former SL white ball captain Dasun Shanaka 16, Nuwanidu Fernando 6 with Thimara Malshan 3 for 21, the chief wrecker in the Sri Lanka Cricket Inter Club Tier ‘B’ T-20 final to retaining the championship title, a truly over the moon champagne euphoria for the champion team with skipper Sudhara Dhakshina in the dash of s job well done for a second consecutive year to boot at the Colts grounds yesterday.

SSC folded up for 100 in 19.2 overs with only Avishka Fernando resisting with a 37 off 35 on a day Malay CCs twosome of Kavinda and Chanaka Devinda contributing to that demolition claiming two wickets each.

Malay CC fired their way to the trophy glitter on a handsome 101 for 6 in 18.2 overs with openers Kavinda Ishwara 26 off 18 with 4 boundaries and a six and Hirantha8 Jayasinghe 19 posting 32 off 4.5 overs with Buddhika Hasaranga smashing 25 off 30 balls with 2 boundaries adding the final flourish winning eith 10 balls to spare.
