The Moratuwa SC vs Navy SC fixture of the Sri Lanka Cricket U23 Emerging Clubs 2-day Tournament ended in a draw with Moratuwa taking first innings points on a higher first innings total of 287 as against their opponents 158 at Welisara during the week-end.
A highlight of the match was Moratuwa SCs Maneedndra Jayathilake’s top score of a run a ball 68, 52 of which came by way of 7 boundaries and 4 sixes, and skipper Sahan Kawshalya’s 47 and 5 wickets for 40 runs in the second innings.
Navy did well to post 244 for 9 wickets in their second innings with Dinosh Jelon Gamage leading the way with a fluent 61 off 105 balls studded with 9 boundaries. The total was also propped up by skipper Sumalka Fernando who scored 44 off 70 balls inclusive of 5 boundaries, Uvindu Perera 30, Ridma Colombage 23 and Hansaja Jayasingha 20.
Moratuwa lost one wicket for 6 runs in their second innings.
