Negombo CCs Shehan Pramod returned magnificent figures of 15 wickets in sending Leo CC crashing to a 120-run defeat in a Sri Lanka Cricket U23 Emerging Clubs Limited Overs match played during the week-end at Air Force Grounds, Katunayake.
He claimed 7 wickets for 43 runs in bowling out Leo CC for 141 taking first lease, and 8 for 50 in a second in innings decimation for 108 runs.
Negombo CC ran up 217 and declared the second innings on 152 for 4 having led Leo CC by 76 runs on the first innings to setting a target of 228 to chase.
Negombo CC skipper Kaveen Fernando led from the front by wo sparkling half centuries opening the batting. In their first innings 217, he scored 52 off 80 balls inclusive of 6 boundaries and a six and followed it up by striking an unbeaten 64 off 76 balls filled with 6 boundaries and 2 sixes while Lester Jayaweera struck a cameo 43 off 19 balls powered by 5 sixes and a boundary in a second innings 152 for 4 declared.
Leo CC buckled in their first innings to the wily bowling of Shehan Pramod who returned fantastic figures of 7 wickets for 43 runs, and second innings haul of 8 for 50 in a second in innings decimation for 108 runs.
