Pulindu Perera crowned himself with the honour of becoming the first double centurion of the ongoing Sri Lanka Under 23 Emerging Club two day cricket tournament when he struck a career best 223 as Nugegoda S&WC amassed 346 for 8 declared against Army SC on the opening day of their fixture played at the Army grounds in Dombagoda.

Pulindu’s marathon 241-ball knock was powered by 19 boundaries and eight sixes as he added 256 runs for the third wicket in negating the early loss of two wickets for eight runs. Kavishka Boteju associated in a massive stand of 256 runs for the third wicket after they lost two wickets for eight runs.

Meanwhile, Police SC openers Sangeeth Shehara 143 and Dhanuja Induwara 138 went on a run spree in taking their side to a huge 344 for 6 declared against Galle CC at the Colts CC Grounds.
Colts were 39 for no loss at stumps.

United Southern’s Thamindu Pradeeptha also hogged the three figure limelight scoring 114 in a total of 278 against Malay CC who were 24 for no loss at stumps on the first day’s play at the Galle International Stadium.
