Kandy chased down a challenging 162 target to defeating Colombo North by one wicket with 17 balls to spare in a Sri Lanka Youthh League U-15 Prima cricket fixture played at Colombo University grounds during the week.

Skipper Lakindu Mewul made a lower order 28 off 78 balls in keeping Kandy in the chase in a cliff hanger undefeated 32 run last wicket pairing off 62 balls together with Tharusha Nimantha who kept his end with 4 off 19 balls in a dramatic finish.

Upfront, Imanjith Dissanayake scored 39 off 66 with 7 boundaries, and Saniru Anuhas 27 to set up the victory.
Colombo North’s 161 off 46.1 overs revolved around Chanuth Hardasa’s compact 44 and Shenuk Nilesh’s 25.
