Zimbabwe bundle out Sri Lanka for 95 in 62-run win in Pakistan Tri Series

Sri Lanka went down to Zimbabwe by 62 runs in badly failing to challenge their opponents 161 for 8 in a pathetic 95 fold up in overs in their Tri Series game yesterday in Rawalpubdi where Brian Bennett 49 and Player of the Match Sikandar Raza 47 dominated the Lankan bowlers for Brad Evans 3 for 9 and Richard Ngarava 2 for 15 were outstanding for the winners.

Sri Lanka’s batting woes came full circle in a running problem to the country’s one day big stage cricket arena that has on this Pakistan tour been a matter of concern from the bad 3-0 ODI whitewash at the hands of Pakistan to yesterday’s T20 game against to a less fancied Zimbabwe turning on the heat in exposing the batting department which has sadly become Sri Lanka’s hashing up Achilees Heel.
Must get the Lankan coaching expertise get going in their high flung professional job as Pathum Nissanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Kusal Janith Perera, Kamindu Mendis let down the side badly with the exception of stand in skipper Dasun Shanaka’s 34 who carried the shine of a blinding brilliant catch to dismiss Sikandar Raza.

Wanindu Hasaranga 3 for 23 was Sri Lanka’s main wicket taker followed by Eshan Malinga 2 for 27, but efforts that would not stop Zimbabwe from posting such a winning total.
