Lahiru Udara 261 in CCCs 631/9 vs Police SC, Dhananjaya de Silva 204 vs BRC toll it high

Double centuries by NCCs Lahiru Udara (261) and CCCs Dhananjaya de Silva (204) against Police SC and BRC were the highlights of the second day’s play of the Sri Lanka Cricket Major League Super Eight Tournament yesterday.
Both Udara and De Silva, the Sri Lanka test captain galvanised the day in the high scoring momentum as bat dominated ball with Udara striking 25 boundaries and 4 sixes as NCC went on a run spree of a record 631 for 9 declared total in grinding Police SC’s bowlers to the ground at the Galle International Cricket Stadium. It was Udara’s 17th first class hundred.
Police had replied with102 for 2 at stumps.

Udara’s mammoth knock clanged in a supportive 149 innings by Sri Lanka white ball opening batsman Kamil Mishara in a 268 third wicket partnership. Mishara struck 12 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Meanwhile, Dhananjaya cut loose hitting 21 boundaries and a six in crossing the 10,000 first class milestone as CCCs iron grip 532 for 6 declared score saw BRC tottering on 127 for 7 facing imminent defeat at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium.
Dhananjaya de Silva aligned in a 282 sixth wicket bonding with Anjala Bandara who hit an unbeaten 151 inclusive of 16 boundaries and and 3 sixes.
